Local house prices on the up!

RICS are reporting that local demand for houses is at its highest level for three years. Of course any increase in demand is good and shows a confidence in the market, but the current stagnation we are feeling did start some four to five years ago, so we need to see figures reflecting an increase from 2008 and then we will know that confidence is back. It is however interesting that the report by the RICS feels that Government schemes are helping, with the full effect of the assistance will not be implemented until next year.

 

Confidence in the market of course helps all sections and we are certainly seeing more and more people looking to buy property to let, many as first time Landlords. Reports such as this support the feeling, but perhaps confirm that buyers will remain cautious for some time to come as investment decisions take longer to be arrived at.
