Insulation support still available

 I was reminded yesterday that Landlord support, under the Energy Saving Allowance is still available until April 2015. This is not part of the scheme for grant supported insulations, rather assistance against capital expenditure. The description s laid down in Tax advice for Investing in Land and Buildings states: loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, hot water system insulation, draught proofing, solid wall insulation and floor insulation in residential property. The support is to set expenditure against income taxable from the property. For clarity speak with your accountant, but since the introduction in 2007, for a start date of 2008, such allowances can easily be forgotten and any help that improves property with the knowledge that the Government is looking closely at standards of housing in the rental market can only be welcome!
