New Homes in the planning for Gnosall

New Homes in the planning for Gnosall

Gnosall Parish Council has confirmed that several planning applications to build over 250 homes have been received, with other sites and other applications expected.

Residents will be able to learn more at a meeting on the 19th of this month, called by the Council in response to concerns raised by this apparent flood of applications.

Stafford Borough Councillor Ken Williamson, has stated that he will call all applications in to ensure they are decided by the planning committee rather than the planning officers, but if recommended to pass by the planning officers, there is little the planning committee can do, other than slow the process down, as appeals are now being awarded in favour of applications which meet planning criteria.

This wave of activity in Gnosall, could be the signs of confidence returning to the local market in reflection of increasing values and number of sales being seen nationally. There is bound to be a slow start, but the need for housing during the last few years of depressed building activity has only risen, creating an urgent need for homes to be built.
